I was recently on a Delta flight to NYC. There is no such thing as complimentary drinks anymore. A can of coke or a bottle of water is $2. Two dollars!!!
It sucks because you can't bring liquids (aka beverages) in to the airport because you might be a terrorist with a bomb for having some water in a bottle. So much for the free market economy, in airports that is suspended - no competition allowed in the name of national security. Making it ripe for Delta to capitalize on our vulnerability and charge $2 for a can of coke or bottle of water while trapped on an airplane. Stingy Delta Airlines! You should be ashamed!
Are you sure that was a Delta flight and not another carrier? According to Delta's website, they do not charge for Coke or water.

Yup, it was flight number DL 5290. US Airways also charges for beverages - water and soda.
