Disparity

I live in the United States of America where it is relatively easy to access food, housing, clothing and every material possession your heart could desire - even in these difficult economic times. in my work, I see what it truly means to be oppressed by poverty. I was recently asked, "does it make you mad to see all the stuff people have when so many have nothing?"

My answer, "the disparity isn't what makes me mad. what makes me mad is when those who have so much complain about what they don't have. i don't have much tolerance for that. I'd rather those who are fortunate be grateful for their good fortune."
