About

Jan 2009 in Lesotho, Africa
I started this blog in 2005 as a way to keep in touch with my family who was living in another part of the US. It simply documents the journey of life - places I've visited, people I have met along the way, things that occupy space in my mind.  Over the years I have visited approximately 50 countries (30 of those in two years!) on 6 continents.  The journey has also afforded us the opportunity to live in Southeast Asia and on the continent of Africa. Where will we go next...only God knows.

I am so grateful for my fellow sojourners.  Some (like my mom) have followed the journey from the beginning (for her it was the very beginning).  Some I have met along the way.  It is not my goal to have this be the biggest or most popular blog, but I do hope that from time to time it challenges those who read it to reflect on their blessings and how they could share those blessings with others - in big and small ways.

What am I about?

It can be summed up in one scripture: "Whoever helps the needy honors God." Proverbs 14:31

I dedicate my life to these two things:  trying to live in a way that honors the hope I found in Jesus Christ, often through finding ways to meet the needs of those less fortunate than I.
